Thursday is a crazy night for reality TV fans. Tonight, for example, you have the debut of True Crime with Aphrodite Jones on Investigation Discovery Network (a channel, I admit, I've never seen), Survivor, American Idol, Kitchen Nightmares, The Real Houswives of NYC (and don't forget part 2 of the OC Reunion), Project Runway, Models of the Runway, and the new season of Sober House. Phew!
Almost enough to drag one away from The Office, which features the usual lustrous performance of Kathy Bates as the new owner of Dunder Mifflin. And on TCM, after last night's marathon of Ginger Rogers masterpieces, tonight we are offered two of the greatest romantic comedies of the 1940s (which means, well, ever), featuring four of the best comedic actors: Barbara Stanwyck and Henry Fonda in Preston Sturges's The Lady Eve and Jean Arthur and Joel McCrea in The More the Merrier, which features a supporting Oscar-winning performance by Charles Coburn.
It's not worth leaving home.
