Two New Sitcoms and a Modest Proposal
Four new sitcoms have come with buzz, and two of them debuted Monday night: How I Met Your Mother and Kitchen Confidential. My main constructive criticism applies to both: Relax and stop trying so hard. Both shows have attractive casts and a decent premise. Maybe they'll find their groove. And maybe there's still hope for My Name Is Earl and Everybody Hates Chris.
What's worth watching of the new shows? There are so many choices, and TV Guide does such a lousy job of pointing the way, that I've found online sources are best. Here's a current favorite: Laurel's TV Picks. She does a terrific job of not only highlighting what's new on broadcast and cable TV, but also reruns of particular interest.
