More on Hunter Thompson

Hunter Thompson's Hell's Angels and Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas were favorites of mine, but it concerns me that so many obituaries and appreciations have glossed over not only Thompson's many personal problems, but the deterioration of his work. It's not an easy thing to even-handedly assess a controversial figure right after he dies. Louis Menand does just that in a beautifully written "Comment" in this week's New Yorker.
