Movie Club with John Ridley
Just what we need. Another television show with folks sitting around talking about movies. In this case, we do. None of the four regular critics on this American Movie Classics show will displace Roger Ebert as a TV critic, but the group is lively, funny, and the half-hour moves crisply. Its biggest asset is host John Ridley, who moves effortlessly from moderator to participant. Movie club debuts on Friday night at 10:30 P.M., but is rerun at 10:30 A.M., just before the essential Sunday Morning Shootout. I'd fire up the old VCR or the DVR and record this hour.
