Some of the best reality shows are on basic cabic. One of my favorites this year is Film School, on IFC (the Independent Film Channel). Four NYU graduate students, aspiring directors, struggle to mount a student film. The mechanics of lining up financing and assembling an unpaid cast and crew overwhelm most of these students' artistic endeavors, and they get a taste of what the "real world" of filmmaking might entail.
Each new episode of Film School airs at 10:30 P.M., but a repeat of last Friday's episode, when one of the students reaches a crossroad in her personal and academic life, airs tonight at 9:30 P.M. EST.
